| January 2009 | The voters in Waterbury voted to rescind the vote for the replacement of the two fire stations. |
| 5 January 2009 | The Waterbury Village Fire Dept and the Waterbury Town Fire Dept. offically merged into the Waterbury Fire Department. The two departments have been working, training and responding together for several years now. |

| November 2008 | The town of Waterbury voted to replace the two fire stations. Both stations are in poor physical condition and have issues that may cause health problems. The vote was to replace the village station with a full station and place a satelite station in the town. Both stations will remain in their current location. |
| January 2008 | The Village and the Town voted to merge the Waterbury Village and the Waterbury town fire depts. For the past several years the depts have responded and trained together. The merger was a necessary step to solving the replacement of the two stations. In March the Vermont House approved the change to the charter which was required for the depts to merge. The merger is effective 1 January 2009. |
| 20 December 2007 | The Waterbury Village Fire Dept celebrates the 125th anniversary of the dept which was organized on 20 December 1882. |
| 11 December 2007 | The Waterbury Village Fire Dept accepted the resignation of Mike Wilder, a long time member of the Waterbury Village Fire Dept. Mike is a member of the 25 Year Club. The dept honored Mike by voting him in as a Lifetime Member. |
| 8 December 2007 | The Town of Waterbury Fire Dept dedicated Engine 3 as the Richard White Engine Company to honor the years of service he has dedicated to the dept. Photos |
| 27 November 2007 | The Waterbury Village Fire Dept relunctantly accepted the resignation of Mike LaRock, a long time member and past Chief of the Waterbury Village Fire Dept. Mike is a member of the 25 Year Club. The dept honored Mike by voting him in as a Lifetime Member. |
| Fall 2007 | The Town of Waterbury and the Village of Waterbury are working on the merger of the Waterbury village Fire Dept and the Waterbury Town Fire Dept. The village and town will be voting on the issue in the coming months. |

| June 30 2007 | Waterbury Village and Town Fire Depts are organizing the 4th of July parade again this year. In honor of the Village FD's 125 anniversary they will be pulling the Seth in the parade. |
